The Dubbed Out Festival Outdoor stage will be hosted by Slippers the Split.
“Slippers” is a custom-built VW Split Screen van that has been converted into a high-quality mobile sound system. The van was built by a company called Dubtricks, which specializes in creating custom VW camper vans and sound systems.
The VW Split Screen van is a classic design that was first introduced in the 1950s. It is a popular choice for custom builds due to its unique shape and vintage charm. Dubtricks started with a 1965 model and stripped it down to the bare metal before beginning the customization process.
The exterior of the van has been restored and customized with a custom paint job, lowered suspension, and retro-style wheels. The interior has been completely gutted and rebuilt with a custom sound system that includes top-of-the-line components.
The technical details of the sound system include:
– Two 18-inch subwoofers: These provide the low-end frequencies and are mounted in custom-built enclosures. – Four 12-inch mid-range drivers: These handle the mid-range frequencies and are also mounted in custom-built enclosures.
– Four high-frequency horns: These provide the high-end frequencies and are mounted on the roof of the van.
– A 10-channel mixer: This allows for precise control over the sound levels and EQ.
– Multiple amplifiers: These provide the power needed to drive the speakers and ensure high-quality sound. The sound system is controlled by a custom-built audio console that is mounted in the front of the van. It includes a mixing board, equalizers, and other audio processing equipment.
The whole unit is mounted on its own custom built platform.

The festival, which is a celebration of all things Volkswagen and Campervan, will be held at the Royal Cheshire Showground from the 27th to the 30th of July in Knutsford.
